Experiential Learning Game (F2F later made into Virtual)

"Paylocity Pursuit" is a modular, experiential board game designed to transform sales training by immersing players in the familiar environment of the Paylocity office. As participants navigate the game board, they confront realistic scenarios tied to seven key sales concepts, promoting behavioral change through real-time decision-making and peer-driven feedback. Rooted in behavioral science, this interactive format reinforces positive reinforcement, accountability, and cognitive skill development, while also fostering collaboration and critical thinking. The modular design allows other teams or instructional designers to adapt and expand the game for different training needs, maximizing ROI and ensuring its longevity as a versatile learning tool. This unique approach has proven so engaging that players wanted to continue beyond the session, even taking the game outside of the office setting for continued interaction. Everything from the game board, cards, instructions, concept and video was designed, created and edited by myself. Take a look!

Immersive Capstone Part 1

In this unforgettable capstone experience, learners found themselves immersed in a room transformed into an expansive iceberg landscape, symbolizing the hidden challenges and obstacles in the sales world. Surrounded by towering ice formations and deep, icy-blue visuals, participants were tasked with navigating the unpredictable terrain of sales scenarios that tested their strategic thinking and adaptability. Much like an iceberg, where most of the mass lies hidden beneath the surface, the sales challenges presented unexpected complexities that required participants to dig deep into their knowledge and skills to uncover the best solutions. The cold, pressure-filled environment heightened the stakes, mirroring the high-stakes nature of sales negotiations. To this day, learners recall the experience with clarity, regularly drawing on the skills and strategies they developed while navigating the metaphorical and physical icebergs, making this capstone an undeniable part of their professional growth.

Immersive Capstone Part 2

In this dynamic, high-energy capstone, learners went head-to-head in a life-size crossword puzzle challenge, where teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills were put to the ultimate test. Divided into teams, participants raced against the clock and each other to complete the puzzle by recalling key elements from their training. The pressure of competition, combined with the physicality of the life-size puzzle pieces, forced participants to apply their knowledge in real-time, leveraging strategic thinking and quick decision-making. Using cognitive recall, teamwork, and leadership, this immersive experience required each team to demonstrate communication and adaptability in order to outpace their rivals. The physical and mental engagement in solving the puzzle created an unforgettable learning experience, with participants walking away with a strong sense of accomplishment and a deeper understanding of how to lead and collaborate effectively under pressure.

Hands on Practical Application (Later Made Remote Learning)

In this challenge, learners faced a high-stakes simulation that required them to demonstrate their ability to perform an accurate inventory count under intense, real-world distractions. To replicate the unpredictable nature of inventory in their stores, where interruptions from customers, managers, and peers are frequent, learners were bombarded with “cannonballs”—simulated disruptions designed to throw them off their task. These distractions tested their focus, resilience, and ability to recall the strategies taught for managing interruptions and maintaining accuracy. The immersive environment, filled with unexpected challenges, reinforced the importance of staying calm, using systematic processes, and relying on their training to ensure precision. This experiential capstone gave learners practical, hands-on experience in managing distractions under pressure, ensuring they left with the skills needed to maintain accuracy and efficiency in their day-to-day roles.

My Creativity Unleashed- Selfie Studio

As part of my portfolio of out-of-the-box thinking and willingness to take bold chances, my husband and I created, designed, and built an immersive, interactive photo studio from the ground up. This innovative space became a hub for community outreach, where we offered structure photography lessons to teens and seniors, fostering creativity and learning across generations. The success of the program even earned us a feature on the local news, highlighting our commitment to community engagement and educational impact.

Disruptive Learning Hacker Takeover
(Designed for F2F & Virtual)

In this disruptive learning experience, what begins as a typical, dull presentation skills training quickly takes a dramatic turn. After a couple of minutes of listening to what seems like a standard session, the PowerPoint distorts, static fills the speakers, and suddenly, the classroom is “hacked.” Learners find themselves thrown into an escape-room-style challenge, where they must collaborate to defeat the hacker. To regain control, they work through the course content, sharing experiences, watching videos, and solving clues along the way—all designed to enhance their presentation skills. With iPads in hand and physical items like articles, TikTok videos, and best-practice prompts to guide them, learners are unaware that they’re actively mastering the skills necessary to deliver impactful presentations. Leaders later observed a marked improvement in the participants’ presentation capabilities, with increased confidence, better engagement, and stronger delivery. The proof was in the numbers—those who completed the experience showed a notable rise in second appointment bookings, making it clear that the innovative approach had a lasting, practical impact.
